Why is Elon Musk so significant?
On June 28th 1971 a boy named Elon Reeve Musk was born in Pretoria, South Africa. He grew up being bullied in school but that only inspired him to become a good person. At only 12 years old he realized he was very talented with computers and sold a video game he created. Elon eventually moved from South Africa to Canada to live with his mom and then eventually moved to the United States to go to school. He went to Stanford University in California but only stayed 2 days because he decided he was more passionate about starting his own businesses. In 1995, he created a software company with his brother called Zip2 and 4 years later it was bought for $307 million making Elon an instant millionaire. Elon then founded another company called PayPal which sold for $1.5 billion. In 2002, Elon then founded SpaceX to help make space rockets more affordable and ultimately get humans to go to planet Mars. In 2004, he was a co-founder of an electric car company called Tesla,. Elon is a very busy man and is CEO for not only 1 company but 3! If that isn’t enough to keep him busy he is also chairman of the Musk Foundation which helps provide natural energy to areas where disasters occurred. Elon has been quite successful over the years and is worth over $10 billion which makes him one of the wealthiest people in the world. Even though Elon is a billionaire his goal is not to sit back and live a lavish lifestyle but rather do good and reinvest it in future businesses that make impactful changes to the world we all live in.
